“Before Turning Winds, I felt like my anger controlled me. Now, I have real strategies that help me calm down and express myself without hurting others. I feel like a new person!”
The Turning Winds program has been invaluable in helping my step daughter turn her life around. She went into Turning Winds a very angry young woman that was in jeopardy of becoming a high school dropout. She has evolved into a self aware, mentally healthy young woman who wants to pursue additional education to achieve a career helping others.
My son spent 6 months at Turning Winds and it saved his life. His therapist was better than we could’ve asked for and was very communicative with us. Our son was not only able to catch up on credits in school, but get ahead, and will graduate from high school as a junior on June 1st! We are so grateful for the entire staff at Turning Winds!
“Our son used to struggle with constant frustration and outbursts. It felt like we were walking on eggshells at home. Turning Winds gave him the tools to manage his emotions, and now he’s more patient, communicative, and in control. We finally have peace in our home again.”
Turning winds saved my son’s life. Everyone there is dedicated and top-notch. They genuinely care about the children there and making their lives better. I would recommend them anyone that is struggling with a difficult teen.
Our experience with Turning Winds has been great. The staff was very compassionate and understanding of our situation. They have done a great job facilitating family sessions and working on our issues. My daughter has made a 180* turnaround in her life during her time at TW and I am very thankful I made the difficult step of putting her into the program
With the SF1, I feel that I’m no longer going to be afraid of those dogleg lifts anymore. I feel like this is gonna be a good part of my bag!
Every parent wants to ensure their child is in the best hands when seeking mental health treatment. That’s why it’s essential to ask the right questions to help you make an informed decision:
Accreditation is vital because it demonstrates that a treatment center adheres to the highest standards of care and professionalism. Providers should be accredited by reputable organizations that validate both their therapeutic and academic programs.
Understanding your insurance options is an important step in planning for treatment. Ask whether a provider works with your insurance plan, if they are in-network or out-of-network, and if they offer support in navigating the insurance process.
Teens deserve the chance to maintain their academic progress while addressing their mental health needs. Many treatment programs offer accredited education tailored to each teen’s unique learning requirements, helping them stay on track and work toward graduation in a supportive environment.
It’s important to ask how the provider evaluates the effectiveness of their programs. Providers who use data-driven outcomes can offer transparency and help you feel confident in the quality of care your teen will receive.
Ensure a treatment center employs licensed and credentialed professionals with experience in adolescent mental health and education. Licensed staff are better equipped to provide effective care and meet the specific needs of teens and their families.
